Translation & Localization
Translation and Localization
We are most passionate about software and marketing localization.
The difference? The localization process is most generally related to the cultural adaptation and translation of software, video games, and websites, as well as audio, video, or other multimedia content. And that’s what we do! Written translation is no exception: ads, marketing texts, brochures and whatever materials you may need to sell your product - all that has to be localized rather than translated. Still, we feel comfortable with less creative content too: your legal docs and technical documentation will be handled by qualified people, with accuracy and attention to detail.
Linguistic Review
We are most passionate about software and marketing localization.
Having an independent reviewer check your work is a good thing: four eyes see better than two, as they say. We step it up a little by engaging more than one linguist to rework your content and prepare an objective quality evaluation. You may be surprised to discover just how much better your translations could have been.
Desktop Publishing
We are most passionate about software and marketing localization.
What if your content has complex design with lots of graphic elements, columns, tables, and fonts? Then you may need a Desktop Publishing service, also abbreviated DTP, on top of translation. In the simplest terms, DTP is the process of disassembling and then assembling back documents with complex layout/formatting and a significant amount of graphic elements. PDF, PowerPoint presentations, even image files — we can handle it all and will make sure your translated materials look just as appealing as their original version.
App localization
We are most passionate about software and marketing localization.
If you use mobile apps in a language other than English, how often do you find yourself switching to the original English version? As far as Georgia is concerned, we have the exact answer - XX% of Georgians are unhappy with what they see in their apps and end up switching to English. And we can see why! The reason is poor localization quality - it’s as simple as that. It leads to user frustration and damage to a brand’s reputation. User interfaces (UIs), mobile apps and end user-facing websites are often perceived as one of the easiest types of content to deal with - at GL Team, we consider it our mission to change this misconception. Because in reality app localization is a nuanced and hard-to-crack process, especially when it comes to Georgian and other languages that we support. For that, we maintain a knowledge base with practical examples of good and bad UI translations. Click here to read our blog and get advice on how to properly translate UIs into Georgian and make end users happy (available only in Georgian).
